🌟 Calling on Our DYW LED Employer, College & Partner Network – Support Calderside Academy’s S2 Class Talks! 🌟
✅ At DYW Lanarkshire & East Dunbartonshire, we’re passionate about helping young people explore pathways to positive and sustainable destinations beyond school. This journey starts early – and right now, Calderside Academy is leading the way with an exciting initiative for their S2 pupils.
✅ From 19th January to 27th February, the school will run Class Talks engagement sessions to help students make informed subject choices for S3 and beyond. Their vision promotes ambition, excellence, kindness, and respect, and they want to showcase a variety of career sectors and professions to inspire their learners.
🌟 Here’s how you can help:
✅ Deliver a short 20-minute talk to S2 pupils about your industry and the pathways into your profession, apprenticeships, college or university.
✅ Highlight the subject connections that lead to your career.
✅ Share your story and open the world of work to young people in an area of high deprivation (SIMD 1–3).
✅ This is a big ask, but the impact is huge. By the end of this six-week programme, every S2 pupil will feel empowered and confident to make informed decisions about their future.
