Even the ever changing weather forecast couldn’t prevent the DYW LED team, schools and pupils having the most amazing experience learning all about the life of a Dairy Production Farm today. 🐮
Thanks to Lynne Somerville, Catherine Erte-Ewusie & the team from Digital Dairy Chain, we managed to pull off the largest schools group of 105 pupils touring production areas and the animal feeding, welfare and “maternity wards” at Park Farm, Auldhouse. 🐄
The day was packed with interactive STEM workshops at the first DYW LED and #ThinkDairy event supported by SmartSTEMs. ✅
All workshops were designed by 9 supporting teams to inspire and inform S3-S6 pupils all about the wide variety of careers within the dairy sector and the supply chain. 🐮
Activities for the day included:
• Interactive workshops and exhibitions ✅
• A guided farm tour 🐮
• A behind-the-scenes dairy production tour ✅
• Raffle and prize giveaways for pupils 🐮
We couldn’t have done it without Ross Neilson and the amazing team at Park Farm opening their doors to schools, but also a special mention to the supporting exhibitors from Lely Robotics, SmartSTEMs, First Milk, BRYSON TRACTORS LIMITED, T.P.
