DYW LED has supported a local East Kilbride based employer to link in with the 3 main high schools in the area to set up a partnership agreement for the coming year. Plans to give something back to their local community has seen Managing Director Robert Bald and Lynn Wood from Q-Mass connect in with DYW Programme Executive Scott Purdon to agree how the Engineering organisation could support local schools in the area. Class talks, work placements, site tours and mentoring are just some of the ways Q-Mass has decided to link in with the schools.
This will also see Scott link the business in with the Engineering Development Trust to support their Bronze Cadet Programme, and with Career Ready Scotland to offer mentoring opportunities for Duncanrig and St Andrew’s & St Brides who take part in the initiative with targeted support and mentoring for 5th year pupils.
