The 17th annual Social Enterprise in Education Awards took place on the 11th June 2024 at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh. Sponsored by Kibble, Big Issue Invest, Firstport, Highland and Islands Enterprise, Social Enterprise Scotland, and our marketplace sponsors Aegon and Koehler Renewable Energy, this year’s event celebrated a record number of young social entrepreneurs from across Scotland.The Theme of This Year’s Awards focused on the theme of “impact and legacy”.
We heard inspiring stories from former participants about the lasting influence of the programme on their lives and futures. Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes was present at the celebrations, highlighting the importance of social enterprise in education.This year, the Social Enterprise Academy collaborated with a record number over 200 schools throughout Scotland.
Between the Edinburgh and Inverness awards, a total of 132 schools were honoured, with 52 schools attending the Edinburgh event. Over 40 schools participated in the marketplace, showcasing their innovative projects and this also included DYW LED schools.
