⚽🌟 Football for Future – Beyond The Pitch Returns for Year Two! 🌟⚽
▶️ We are delighted to launch the second year of the DYW & Rangers Football Club Soccer Academy Football for Future – Beyond The Pitch Programme at our East Kilbride Hub.
▶️ This year, we’re proud to welcome 21 S1 pupils from Duncanrig Secondary School, St Andrew’s & St Bride’s High School, and Calderglen High School, who have been selected to take part in this exciting wellbeing, employability and personal development programme.
⚽ Using football as the vehicle for learning, participants will attend weekly two-hour sessions delivered by Rangers Soccer Academy coaches and DYW LED, combining physical activity with essential life and career skills.
Throughout the programme, young people will:
✅ Develop teamwork, communication, confidence and resilience through football-based coaching activities.
✅ Explore employability skills including CV building, interview techniques and future career pathways.
✅ Gain access to the Rangers Online Academy and learn more about further education opportunities within the sporting sector.
✅ Receive a complimentary tour of Ibrox Stadium & Museum.
✅ Be provided with a bespoke Umbro training kit.
▶️ More importantly, this programme has been designed to support pupils during their transition into secondary school, aligning with Scotland’s SHANARRI Wellbeing Indicators by helping young people feel:
🛡️ Safe
💚 Healthy
🏆 Achieving
🤝 Nurtured
⚽ Active
🎯 Respected
🌟 Responsible
🙌 Included
▶️ By creating a positive, practical and engaging learning environment, we hope to build aspirations, increase confidence, encourage attendance and attainment, and provide real-life exposure to opportunities within the sport and physical activity sector.
⚽ A huge thank you to our partners at Rangers Football Club Soccer Academy, our participating schools, and everyone involved in supporting the next generation of young people to thrive both on and beyond the pitch.
We look forward to following the journey of this fantastic group throughout the year! 👏⚽
